Hi, I'm John Mazzei. Welcome to my little corner of the internet! Currently I'm composing for TV, film, theatre and commercials. As a keyboardist, I have performed around the US and the world. My primary goal is to write music that helps "tell the story", providing the emotional support for visual images. In my opinion, the best film scores are felt as much or more than they are heard. Influences include, Thomas Newman, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, John Williams, Ennio Morricone, Danny Elfman, Elmer Bernstein, Miles Davis, Stravinsky, Peter Gabriel, Herbie Hancock, and many more. I can occasionally be seen and heard playing keyboards in San Francisco and around the Bay Area with the band Flying Venus and playing jazz at fine weddings and parties.
